We’ll come to you! Metropolitan staff is available to do in-class presentations and workshops for teachers.
Metropolitan staff will create a customized water-education presentation or "H2O Show" for students from pre-K to college. These unique, interdisciplinary, hands-on learning opportunities cover California's water sources, supply, distribution, quality, uses, conservation and current water problems. Concepts are taught through experiments, group activities, discussions, videos, games and songs.
RegisterBSA Programs
Metropolitan offers a BSA Soil and Water Conservation Merit Badge workshop. The workshop covers the seven elements required to earn the badge. Staff mixes discussion and hands-on learning opportunities to give the scouts a unique learning opportunity. For BSA scouts that don’t earn merit badges yet, we can create a presentation in person or online that will discuss water conservation or other water topics.
Girl Scout Water Protector Patch Program
Metropolitan’s Girl Scout Water Protector Patch Program is on hiatus currently.
Younger students learn that water is shared by plants, animals and people in different environments through engaging stories read by Metropolitan’s trained staff. Story times improve reading, writing, and communication skills. Metropolitan staff can work with parents, teachers and educators to select lively stories aligned with learning goals. Selected water-themed stories engage students with open-ended questions that foster critical thinking, logic and concentration, as well as cultivate a lifelong love of reading.
