Metropolitan Will Work With Newsom Administration on Delta Conveyance Solution

Earlier this month, Gov. Gavin Newsom's Administration announced the advancement of a single-tunnel conveyance solution in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Metropolitan remains committed to working with the administration to advance a project that meets the water reliability needs of the state and minimize impacts to the Delta communities and environment. "New conveyance is essential. The current system is already outdated and vulnerable; climate change will further stress it with a future of sea level rise and increasingly intense floods and droughts," said Metropolitan General Manager Jeffrey Kightlinger. 17th Annual Solar Cup™ Takes Place This Weekend
Solar Cup

Metropolitan's 17th annual Solar Cup™ competition takes place this weekend at Lake Skinner in the Temecula Valley. Students from 40 Southland high schools will race their self-built 16-foot, single-seat boats in sprint and endurance races during the three-day event, capping seven months of preparation. Metropolitan is partnering with Univision KMEX and KBNT to feature Spanish-language segments on popular morning shows "Despierta Los Angeles" and "Despierta San Diego." Both features emphasize the water and money-saving benefits of replacing thirsty lawns with California Friendly® and native plants.
