Voluntary Agreements Framework for Delta Announced
The Newsom Administration recently announced a framework for voluntary agreements to provide additional science, habitat and environmental flows for the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers watershed and the delta. "A shared, voluntary approach to balancing the beneficial uses of water from the Sierra is far better for California's people and environment than years of litigation," said General Manager Jeffrey Kightlinger. Metropolitan Releases Annual Report to the California State Legislature
A report prepared annually by Metropolitan shows significant achievements in fiscal year 2018-2019. Metropolitan invested $45 million in water conservation, recycled water and groundwater recovery, reducing per-capita water use in Southern California by one-third since 1990 - a cumulative water savings of nearly 3 million acre-feet. |
