Metropolitan Water District’s Education Unit provides water education programs, supplemental materials, teacher in-services and classroom presentations for teachers and students from pre-K through college.

Our curricula and materials teach students about California’s water supply and distribution systems, water sources, water use, water conservation, and the importance and responsibility of stewardship.  All Metropolitan programs correlate to various California Content Standards, including Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

We are very proud of our programs and of our relationships with literally thousands of teachers and students through the years.  It has been our privilege to provide a variety of FREE water education programs within our six-county service area, which include Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and parts of Ventura.

The MWD Education Unit mission is to continue to produce and distribute quality water-related materials that educate, motivate, engage, and transform students’ behavior toward water.
